We want to draw your attention to the government’s Warm Home Discount Scheme.
You could get up to £140 off your electricity bill for winter 2020 to 2021 by receiving a one-off discount on your electricity bill, between September and March. People using pre-pay or pay-as-you-go electricity meters do qualify.

Core Group people qualify for the scheme if on 5 July 2020 all of the following apply:
- Your energy supplier is part of the scheme
- Your name (or your partner’s) is on the energy bill
- You receive the Guarantee Credit element of Pension Credit (known as the core group)
You receive a letter between October and December 2020 from your energy supplier telling you how to get the discount. Your letter will say if you need to call a helpline by 26 February 2021 to confirm your details. Your electricity supplier will apply the discount to your bill by 31 March 2021.
If you do not get the letter and you think you are eligible for the CORE GROUP, contact the Warm Home Discount helpline on 0800 731 0214. Do not contact this helpline if you are not eligible for the CORE GROUP.
Broader Group people may qualify if the following apply:
- Your energy supplier is part of the scheme
- You are on a low income
- You get certain means-tested benefits
Your electricity supplier decides who can get the discount and the number of discounts that they will give is limited. The only way to get the discount is to apply directly to your electricity supplier.
You need to check and apply with your supplier as early as possible.
You can review a list of energy suppliers participating in this scheme below.
Cirencester Housing cannot apply on your behalf. We can help you understand if you might be eligible. Our Tenancy Plus Here4U is one to one customer service working closely with you so that together, we can identify and assist with options that maybe right for you.
