Cirencester Housing is a member of the NHF’s Rural Housing Alliance, and our Chief Executive, Maureen Margrie, as the RHA’s Gloucestershire Rural Housing Champion welcomes queries and opportunities to support and speak about rural housing and how it contributes to sustaining vibrant rural communities.
The National Housing Federation recently published information about the positive impact that rural housing has on local communities, helping generate economic activity and retention of local amenities. As a member of the NHF’s Rural Housing Alliance, Cirencester Housing has signed up to the Rural Pledge, which includes working closely with local communities and Parish Councils to bring affordable homes to rural communities.
Maureen Margrie, our Chief Executive, has a passion for sustaining rural communities having grown up on a farm in Iowa in the USA and living in small communities most of her life. As such, she has welcomed the opportunity to become the RHA’s Rural Housing Champion for Gloucestershire to inform, champion and support the positive benefits of affordable rural housing and on how housing associations may assist communities in realising homes and vibrant communities.
