Could you contribute to the continued success of Cirencester Housing by joining our Board?
Cirencester Housing has been in existence since 1949 providing high quality, social and affordable housing. We are a small association focusing on Cirencester Town and the surrounding rural communities, offering quality homes and an individual personalised service to our customers. We are committed to doing more by working with local communities, developers and partners to enable the collaborative creation of housing.
We are recruiting to appoint a Chair and two Board members to ensure the continued good governance of our organisation. All Board members need to demonstrate a passion for our social purpose and niche as a small housing association, as well as a commitment to be responsible for the governance of Cirencester Housing. Our board skills assessment has identified specific gaps and we are therefore looking for representation from individuals who have:
- Direct experience and understanding of needs, aspirations and concerns of our customers
- Strong local connection/commitment to the local community
- Regulated housing sector experience, particularly in asset management and/or development
- BME and women applicants are especially encouraged to apply
The annual commitment is 6 meetings a year and 1 full day every other year. We welcome a diverse range of attributes amongst our Board members and will endeavour to be as flexible as possible to accommodate personal situations. We encourage those who may not have experience of being a board member to apply as we offer training, mentoring and other support to assist board members in fulfilling their roles.
Are you our next Chair of the Board?
Cirencester Housing seeks to appoint a person with previous chairing experience, preferably in a housing association, charity or other regulated body. Such experience could be of a committee, interim chair, vice-chair or other equivalent leadership activities. Additional time commitment is required of the Chair to support the CEO and oversee board governance activities.
